Year 2019#

In November 2019, thirty-one Island School teachers and students visited Baiwan. They taught in local schools, visited some local villages and had basketball matches with the teachers in Hei Moong Primary School and Baiwan Secondary School students. They distributed some clothes to the students in Nan An Primary Schools. The Baiwan Charity sponsored the scholarship for primary students who perform well in examinations. They also donated two printers to the Hei Moong Primary School.

At the beginning of August, a couple of the Baiwan Charity visited Baiwan. They met some recipients of the Baiwan Charity, who received sponsorship to continue high school education in Qingyuan. They also sponsored the Baiwan Secondary School to furnish a new meeting room, which includes display cabinets, computer and a projector.

In the last week of June 2019, thirteen Island School staff and students visited Baiwan. They taught in local schools and played with pre-school children. They also organised a treasure hunt in the Sunbean Children’s Village on the morning before they returned to Hong Kong.

In April 2019, a couple from the Baiwan Charity visited Baiwan. They met with some students in Fengxia Middle School in Qingyuan to give them moral support before their public exams in June. Those students were sponsored by the Baiwan Charity and will seek for education in either Tertiary Institutes or Senior High Schools, depending on the exam results.
