Year 2013#

In December 2013, a small party of the Island School Community visited Baiwan. They taught Christmas carols at the Hei Moong Primary School and distributed presents to the students after the games.

In November 2013, twenty seven Island School teachers and students visited Baiwan. They taught in various schools, visited some local villages and had a basketball match with Nan An Primary School. They bought new basketball boards for the school and distributed scarves and hats to the students there.

In July 2013, Baiwan Charity sponsored a group of post-secondary students based in Guangdong to run a two-week summer camp for students in Xi Wang Primary School. The activities involved English, Mathematics and general knowledge. Five of the seventeen members had grown up in Baiwan. They were very pleased with the opportunity to come back home to serve the children there.

During that period, a couple of the Baiwan Charity visited the team. They bought new desks and chairs for Baiwan Secondary School, and sponsored two students to continue their education in Qingyuan and Dongguan.

In June 2013, a small party of the Island School Community visited Baiwan. They visited a household in a remote village in the hills. They presented prizes for 60 Xi Wang Primary School students who did well in the Term One examination. They ran activities and distributed stationery for Primary 6 students in the school.  They provided scholarship for those students who excelled in the end of year examination. They also established a scholarship in Baiwan Secondary School for those Secondary 3 students who did well in the public examination.
