Island School community service#

BaiWan has been a community service placement for Island School (IS) since 1998. Every year, a group of students and teachers from IS visits Bai Wan for a week in October/November. We teach children in local schools and play with them.

We are grateful to Bai Wan for allowing IS students to learn great lessons from them. IS students’ comments:

In order to repay the community,  money has been raised over the years to help equip schools with better facilities. The Da Vinci House of IS has been supporting children in Sun Bean Children Village through their primary and secondary education. The Nansen House has bought PE equipment , library books, desks and chairs etc. for various schools in Baiwan. It also sponsored the Baiwan Secondary School to build hostel and buy bunk beds for boarding students. IS Student Union 2004 had also sponsored to build the dormitory for Baiwan Secondary School. Starting from 2010, a scholarship is established in Hei Moong Primary School to encourage students to do well in examinations. This is also extended to Nan An Primary School in 2015.
